Description:

Out of the box, Tovuti comes with multiple standard permission levels, ranging from public to super admin. But, Tovuti also gives you the ability to create your own more granularly defined permission levels.

User Permissions:

Out of the box, Tovuti comes with the standard user groups and permissions such as registered, sub-administrator, and site administrator but Tovuti lets you create as many permission levels and user groups as you like.

A use case for this is your organization has trainers that need to go into the administrator dashboard and design courses and lessons. But these trainers don’t need to pull reports or configure users. As an administrator, you have the ability to create a trainer role and then only give them the permission to see the Learning tab on the Administrator Dashboard.

To do this, create a user group and place it under the Sub Administrator parent group. Now go to Admin Permissioning in the People tab and click New. Give your permission level a name, a good rule of thumb is to make it the same as the user group name to keep everything simple. Switch the Restriction Type to User Group and then choose the User Group that will have this permission given to them. Now select the permissions you want to give to that group. When you are finished, press Save and Close.

Now, a group of trainers can login and create courses and lessons for your learners while you rest assured that other parts of the administrator dashboard are secure from users who don’t need access to them.
